I live in Roger’s Park. I’m going to Roscoe’s for the drag race finale. It’s been a long season, and yeah we all come and watch the show. It’s kind of like how people flock to sporting events―this is the queer event right now going.
It’s like a weight lifted off of you, for me as a queer individual, just walking this strip is like I can breathe a little easier, seeing the people that kind of identify the same way that I identify. That’s a good thing about this area I like. Pride, I guess. It’s just a big celebration, people complimenting people and dance battles…it’s wild, I love it.
Favorite street corner?: The Chicago Diner is right here, and I’m a vegan so I love that place, so maybe here.
