I work at the energy resources center there in the College of Engineering at the university so I have a research position there. I went to graduate school here quite a while ago (late 70s)…there was a big market here and we were warned to stay away from it and all of that so it’s changed pretty dramatically in the years since then…It’s busy, there’s a lot of restaurants—they weren’t here before.
Favorite Chicago intersection?: Diversey and Broadway and that—I just have memories of hanging out around there in the past.
Interesting street-corner stories?: In the thick fog running into a guy from Ireland and he wanted to talk. That was one. Standing at a bus stop once I got robbed—so some positive ones and some negative ones—mostly good.
