I’ve lived in Chicago all my life, except for the time I was in the service from 1964 to 1966. Right now I live in West Town, more specifically East Village. Change is bound to happen. Fortunately it’s been for the better. Change in the people, the population, more amenities such as stores and shops. More shops and stores and bars and even theaters. Quite a bit of that within the last ten years mostly.

It used to be when it was first gentrifying it was artists and those affiliated with the artist community. Now I think it’s in some ways more family-oriented. The people moving in now are professional types I suppose―we used to call them yuppies.
