I have a job that I’m working on next door. I’m an architect so we’re building a space down the street. This Wicker Park/Bucktown area is like the corner that everything comes together. It represents pretty good Chicago urban fabric from at least a hundred years ago. It’s retained its character and quality. I have been coming here for the last five years because the project has been going on for that long. Not much has changed—it’s kind of retained its chaos. It’s always consistently busy. Eccentric. Eclectic.
Chicago street corner story?: I was hit on a bike by a cop on the corner once. The cop was turning and they hit me without looking and they broke my bike. That was a funny story. That was on Chicago and Dearborn.
